  • What to save before car goes to crusher...

Scrap metal guys coming for my '93 Festy in a few days. What should I take off to keep or sell? What are the most common or highest value items that are easy for a klutz to remove from the car?

I've already pulled the headlights, corner lights, tail lights. Cruise control is gone.
More of a description in this thread:

    Thanks for any suggestions.

A few weeks back I stripped one down to only the unibody, every nut bolt and screw into my "metric" collection, and all parts kept if of any use/value. The shell was so light I could put a tow strap on it and lean my 180 lbs. against it and drag it 2-3" at a time. 3 men picked it up and loaded in onto a pickup. With the fenders, doors, hood (all bent but removed to get the hinges) exhausts, no glass loaded back in it only weighed 580 lbs. I did keep the hatch (no glass), but all other metal was bent. If it could be removed, it was.

If you have the storage space, I'd do like Jim and pull everything down to the unibody. Never know what you'll need, or can trade or sell.
