    Does anybody know how to make the doors not lock? I broke the lock cylinder out of one of the doors on the GL to where I can't install it back on again... plus I have a hard time unlocking the doors from both the outside and inside (only the trunk kinda unlocks)

    SOLD! '90 Ford Festiva L Manual look for Narion (or click the username) it's new owner on the forum! - got with 193,xxx miles... now has 193,xxx miles give or take SOLD!

    R.I.P '91 Ford Escort GT w/ bad engine..... stripping for parts then off to the scrapper!

    R.I.P '91 Ford Festiva Manual "Lil Red Rocket" bought brand new in 1991 with ~120 mi... ended with 227,xxx mi.

      I don't do that already, other people have tho... but what I mean is completely removing everything related to making the doors lock so they don't.... removing lock cylinders, buttons, and everything inside the doors

          Functionally, all you would really need to do is undo the little clip that connects the door lock to the rod. Now it can't be locked with a key. Then unhook the rod that goes from the button down to the locking mechanism down in the door; or just remove the button and rod completely, and find a little plug to put in the button hole.

          Make sure the lock is in the unlocked position when you do this!

          But why would you want to make it unlockable? I don't understand why you have a hard time with the locks; maybe they just need some WD-40 or something to free them up.

            the clip already broke off the lock cylinder on the passenger door so I can't put it back on and I just about broke the key off in the door when i tried to unlock the door from the outside... I have had people that have locked the car and it took about half an hour to get in the car by crawling over the back seat from the trunk
