  • Towing a Festiva with an Automatic Transmission

I read where it's bad to flat tow (all 4 wheels on the ground) an automatic Festiva while it's in neutural because the tranny heats up. Is it ok to do it for short distances? Next question: What distance would be too long?

Some will so any is to far some will go 100s... leave it idleing in neutral. Is what most do with there autos .
I have never personally flat towed and auto but many here have, and im sure they will chime in.

If you absolutely have to I'd say let it idle and try to turn the idle up, like 2000 rpm or so.

Would renting a dolly not be an option? Keeps the drive wheels off the ground. It might be $50 at u-haul.
