  • Need help locating whole exhaust system

Anyone have an idea of where I can get a new muffler system for my 1992?? I am going to replace the system and I want to go from the head to the tail. All new..

I buy mine at Napa. All bolt-together just like the original. When the muffler itself discombobulates, you can then replace it again for $50 and 15 minutes of your time. I think the big pipe (cat to where muffler section bolts on) is about $132. So, you can do the whole thing for under $200.

Rock Auto has all exhaust parts for it.Looks like 275 plus shipping for downpipe, converter, resonator with pipe and muffler. Also will need some gaskets and possibly hangers.

I have to get it up on a lift to see what exactly is going on. The car is slowly falling apart and spending $200 on it, just isn't worth it. The drivers floor is almost totally gone (which I patched this last summer, but it is getting worse).. So, I have to see what it actually needs. I am hoping it may only be the muffler, but I hadn't thought the whole system would be that much..

Have you checked with a local muffler shop for a price? My local shop is about $175.00 for a 2.25" exhaust system.

How much longer are you planning on keeping it running? If one year or less, understandably you don't want to invest much. Are there a lot of good parts on it that you could transfer to a non-rusty car?
