  • NEW TOYS!

As a few of you may know, I have been looking for 3 yrs, to try to find a B6 carb intake manifold.

Well, I have finally found one, and it arrived at my house today!! Needless to say, I am giddy with excitement!!!

It came with a few other nice additions, too!

Behold the holy grail of carb intakes for the Festiva:

This manifold, from what I understand, was only available in Canada. I am sure there may be another one or two around, but this was the only one I could find in 3 years of sometimes serious searching.

Did I mention I am giddy with excitement?!

Thanks to Greg (eurotiva) and Michael (Mkbss89) for making this happen!!! You guys are great!

Nice. I still have not seen black magic on the highway yet.

I had no idea that you were on a quest!
I too am on a quest.
It may take me a few years to get what I am after.
I still have your wiper gear on my "junkyard list".
My headers and exhaust are waiting to go back on.
Unfortunately, I cannot test your Festiva out until I come down for the 2017 total eclipse.
      Stay safe my friend.

And Mexico. I have seen them in the yards here, but didn't know they were worth anything. We get mexican import cars here all the time in our yards. I've seen a 2000 toyota camry with a factory carburetor on it! I almost pooped myself.

Congrats on your find! I'm looking forward to seeing the pictures of it installed.

Thanks everyone! Now I need spring to arrive so I can put it on!

A comparison of the big difference between the B3 intake and B6 intake. (for those who don't know)

Looking at the B3 intake, notice it is more square shaped. You can see the hole in the rear where the air/fuel outlet is. The a/f mix has to go out that hole in rear, then make 2 - 90 degree turns to be directed towards the engine. This can cause fuel separation from the mix. Also note the runners are slightly longer on the EGR (left) side between the 2 - 90 degree bends. The runners are also longer overall having to come from the rear instead of the sides like the B6.

            B3

Looking at the B6 intake, it has the mix coming out the sides of the intake without those 90 degree bends, and shorter runners. No EGR!

            B6

Give up on a custom job?

That one does look good, though.

this is from an AT car. shouldn't be any difference except the additional nipple at the right front of the picture above.

Not totally! I still have the dimensions to have the flange waterjet to shape, including all the holes, have a source for pipe, and a welder at work to do it.

                      So what's stopping me?!

Bad case of the boltons, I'd say.
