Aspire at ?

Trany shifts hard, more so between 1st and 2nd. Been like
that way since I got it at 126k miles 3 years ago. Now has 130k.
I have only driven a couple of other similar cars with the auto and they
all shifted somewhat hard. How about you other at owners ?

I've had 5 automatic Aspires and they all shift hard from first to second. I've only had one go bad on me and the $200.00 junkyard replacement shifts the same way.

Shifting myself with my auto in Hold mode seems to give me whiplash but leaving it in D its fine. Do you mean when you put your foot to the floor and it downshifts hard?

no - it upshifts hard under normal acceleration. feels like a shift kit type shift almost.
not bothersome but people ask about it and they don't seem to believe me when I
tell them its a common thing in the cheaper asian 4 bangers of that era.
