  • Picked up a 97 Aspire

I will be bringing home a 97 Aspire tomorrow.
I want to clarify ever-thing I should keep.
I've read through "Custom Suspension, Brakes & Wheels" and have asked a couple of questions there and I'll be keeping the following:
    1. complete rear beam and associated hardware.
    a. Do I need to keep the rear struts?
    2. front hubs, disc's, calipers, and tie rods.
a, Do I need to keep the front struts?
    3. front sway bar
    a. I read mixed reviews on using it. But I figured I'd at least pull it
    4. master cylinder
    5. tires and wheels
    Anything else from that department?

    Next,
I've read through "Custom Engine & Drivetrain" and asked a couple of questions there as well. I plan on keeping the following but not sure why:
    1. all drive shafts
    a. Do I really need them?
    2. shifter, shifter rods, and associated hardware.
    3. 5 speed transmission is bad.
    a. Should I keep it anyways?
    4. Good running engine.
    a. plan to sell
    Anything else in that department?

    Thanks guys
    Whoa, that was fun!

Wait.... read your post... dich the aspire 5 speed and sick with the efi festiva 5 speed

If the transmission is bad, replace it with one out of the efi festiva... don't put an aspire 5 speed back in, unless you drive better then a grandma... with my luck I replaced 4 aspire 5 speeds... our aspire has its 5th 5 speed

I do not plan in using the Aspire 5 speed. It's whats bad on the Aspire. I just wasn't sure if I should keep it around or not.

Front Seats and rear cover, some folks like them in a Festiva. VAF to throttle body hose. Brake Booster. Three things that I can think of right off.
        I hate being Bi-Polar, it's awesome.
