I think the 90's grill looks Ok on a clean car , the color has a lot to do with it .

I wanted a more custom look , I think the 88-89 grill looks cleaner "finer lines"
and there is so much more you can do with a 88-89 grill ..
 cut out the center bar
cut out the Ford logo and make the bar straight all the way across.------------------------------------------------

yeah i agree. and the old grill reminds me more of the european
pride's and 121's. the over lip of the 90's grill is ok, but its not how
i would have restyled it. i dont think it was an improvement."We can judge the heart of a man by his treatment of animals." -Mohandas Gandhi

88-89 grills are awesome! and i'm not just saying that because i have one either  . it just looks better. i actually like the 88-89 grills better than any custom ones i've seen on here.89 L, hopefully returning from the dead soon with a little more power...

i like that halo setup. probably not cheap though. i guess two good regular headlights would even be nice since one of mine has a crappy plastic headlight cover over it. but back to the subject, i like the early style grills. they look better w/o the little nose of the later ones.
