loknlode,
That '72 442 vert looks like a pile for the asking price. The paint has enough orange peel to pretty much be deemed "non-skid surface". Loose and missing bolts on the radiator shroud looks like a hack job. Engine and rad shroud looks like a silver "rattle can restoration".
I personally don't give a flyin' rip if it is an original 442. IF it would have been left alone and not hacked/cobbled/rattle canned and shot with an airless sprayer, THEN maybe it would be worth close to the money asking. Otherwise it's a simple pile.Last edited by lessersivad; 03-08-2015, 07:36 PM.

I would have guessed it was to dispense TAB, TAB Clear and TAB Xtra from a spigot in the glove compartment/minibar.Driving for me is neither a right nor a privilege. Driving is my passion, as it was for the people who invented the automobile, the people who paved the first roads and the people who continue to improve the automobile. Please respect this passion.

these are for stylin and profilin, not dogin. Its value stays in play if you keep it stock.
actually the trans was upgraded with a hurst shift kit at the hurst factory in texas.
and they were pretty stout gearboxes and the rear end was the 373 pos. factory
air shocks too. you can set the cruise at 100 and just float on down the hwy, AC on,
and no air whistlin in through anywhere or in a festivas case everywhere, lol. you can
actually hold a conversation with your passenger w/o shouting.
sure I aint't taking it to the track but I want to cruise in comfort. back in the 80's
it didn't get much better than a cutlass unless you went caddie, or a big boat buick.
and if you want you can always;
Free Shipping - Chevrolet Performance LS3 6.2L 376 C.I.D 525 HP Engine Assemblies with qualifying orders of $109. Shop Crate Engines at Summit Racing.
tired of the back aches, rattles and road noise on trips.
festers are great for what they were designed for, but on the highway
at 70 + mph? well that is not exactly their forte.
and I like to go to cruise ins and local car shows and I've yet to see a
festiva or aspire.
I go to the Lowes motor speedway for the spring show (april 11) almost
every year and there are thousands of cars there and I've always
wondered why no festiva was ever present. we are talking Charlotte NC where
we have more festiva owners within a hundred miles than probably any
other 100 mile radius anywhere.
why do they have dozens of car clubs present and not a F-club?
and they have a mini cooper club for petes sake.
I might join the Olds club. wonder how well a festiva club would go over
sitting there between the volvo and cooper clubs?
oh and................... toucheLast edited by loknlode; 03-09-2015, 12:38 PM.admit nothing - deny everything - make accusations

One lifts and lowers the forks, one tilts them and the other moves them side to side, right?Driving for me is neither a right nor a privilege. they were designed to give you that drag strip feel. they only had 180hp but with
the hurst shift kit, shifters, and 373 rear gears it was very torquey.
similar after market item;
this shifter is for gm 4 speed automatics. you can pull to shift. no need to buy a reverse valve body. go to kilduffmac
you have to remember in 82-83 there weren't any factory made cars with any
kind of power. we just came out of a gas crisis (made up imo) in 76-77 where we had
to wait in long lines just to get 5 gallons on gas on even/odd days depending
on the last digit on your license plate. and there was that iran hostage thing in 79-80
where everyone thought a war may curtale the import of oil.
the buick grand national had only 245 hp and the corvette wasn't made in 83 but the 82 and 84 had
205 horses. so you get the idea. car makers had to come up with ways to appeal to the car guy market.
and a good reason why government regs almost destroyed the US car maker.
heres what I plan in 2 wheel drive should I get one. (I will keep the original stuff)
Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.
yeah, he's got about 50k in it probably but if he keeps it in good condition
he'll get most of his money back should he sell in a few years. if it were done on stock
chassis and 2 wheel drive it would be under 30k (this thing is 4 wheel drive!!!)
these are generally appreciating 3-500 a year. and mechanical upgrades do not
generally affect it if done right while keeping the appearance stock.
heres the color combo on the 84. I had one of these but sold it 7-8 years ago.
got $7200 for it and it needed restoring.

That 307 4bbl at 180hp is pretty much equivalent to the 5.0 mustang of the same vintage, so fairly respectable for the time. I've also read that they were rated at 148hp.91GL BP/F3A with boost
13.79 @ 100, 2.2 60' on 8 psi and 155R12's
