For the festy I would put 3 oz in the compressor, 3 oz in the evaporator, 2 oz in the condenser, 1 oz in the drier and 1 oz in the hoses. I would use pag 100 oil. This should work for any freon you can find. This just my opinion based on experience in this climate. You may find other opinions for the far south. Also, there are tools to inject oil as you charge the system with freon. These are great for part failures but they do not seem too disperse properly for a brand new dry install. Before you start the car turn the clutch on the compressor over several times to prevent hydraulic damage to the compressor. Keep everything clean and use a little oil on fittings - orings during assembly.
The type of freon can be a volatile subject, political, brand preference, and local supplier controlled. Shipping can have haz-mat charges. Research and make up your own mind for the "stuff" lol, have fun and enjoy the cold dry air down in the palm trees!!
