  • Trilogy completed.

I finally got around to scanning the Body, chassis and body electrical books and have posted it, along with the carb and emissions, and 4&5 speed tranny book, in the files section of the FordFestiva.com Facebook page. Each book had to be broken into 2 or 3 parts to meet facebooks size limitation, but can be recombined into 1 PDF file if you so desire. I used freeware PDFBinder to do it and it works well.

Was it scanned as an image only? Or, as searchable text?

          And where is it?

NM, I was not logged in.

I logged in and still can't see it.

Found it. There are 2 different ff.com things. I don't do facebook, so that was confusing.

Given that the file size limit for facebook seems to be 25MB and a 454 page mostly text pdf is ~10MB, I'd say images.

Yeah the pages are pretty heavy in pictures/drawings. I think the largest file of a whole book is about 65 meg in a PDF file. It may be searchable with full blown Adobe Acrobat and someone may be able to process the files so the index is "point and click- go to the page" interactive, but all that was beyond me with my freeware. I was happy to be able to scan each page and then combine them into groups.
I started out with Acrobat Pro XI on a 30 day trial, but it expired the day before I did the third.

I'll see what I can do. I have Acrobat Pro and there are free OCR apps.

              My internets are slow, though.

Currently OCRing these, and I'll re-up them ASAP as searchable text with images.

Trans is done. From 45MB to 8.4MB with searchable text.

If anyone can email me the other ones, Facebook won't let me DL them for whatever reason, I'll re-up them in searchable too.

                        All for one, etc.

Still gotta get the carb one from Jim, and I'll up that one too.

Sketch, I sent the 3 parts of the carb book this AM. I got your message yesterday while rolling around on the shop floor pulling the beam off Blanca. Tapatalk was so slow downloading that I forgot about it after I had an incoming call and disconnected. Thanks for making these more useful. Do you want to redo the tranny book it all its glorious color? If so, let me know.

Yeah, I'll do the color one. Nearly forgot. I assumed doing BW would reduce file size, but it seems just reducing the resolution to a more sane level is what really helps. I have the color one already. I should have both the color trans and carb ones up in a bit.

If anyone has the FI Engine, Emissions, and Related FSM and can scan it in, I could put them all together into a pseudo-mega-manual with a clickable menu system on the first page so you could have all the manuals in 1 and just click to go to FI or Carb, trans, or body, etc.

It would give us the speedy navigation of having them separate, but you could still have just 1 file for all of it.

For now all files are at the below link.
