        yeah cars brought in that way have to be brought up to year of manufacture u.s. safety [air bags] and emission standards. $$$$$$$ unless you never intend to use it on-road .
        91 u.s. festiva L 189423 mi. GL int. , engine started smoking [sold]
        93 u.s. festiva gl 222000 mi. bad engine , parts car [sold]
        1981 ford F-100 400000+ miles ? , looks rough - runs good
        1963 1/2 Ford Falcon 4 door base model , 106000 original miles , second owners

              This is the same problem we've had with SmartCars here in the US. Bringing them up to spec is a biatch. Didn't they just start selling Smarties here, though?

                they were sold in limited numbers by some place out of cali, but now smartcars are marketing them here themselves. i expect they will be expensive and still in slim numbers.
