OK, my new $300 car is now approaching $900, but boy is is quiet and smooth now :-). Now I'm going to have to do *good* body work on it...

Making progress! Painted the body repair work on one side and the new hood today. Before and after:
Of course, the shiny new paint makes the rest of the car look like poop(even more). Hopefully some buffing, waxing, and the passage of time will even things out :-). It looks as though NAPA did a very good job of matching the color, anyway.
I also changed it into a Mazda, just for grins:

VERY nice hood! I think I'm done painting - supposed to be sunny tomorrow so I'll get it outside in the light and see. I ended up clear coating the entire right side. That side was all scratched up & had no gloss to it at all. My theory was it was parked under low hanging trees forever and the branches scratched up only that side. Anyway, now that side has considerably more gloss than the other. I think it will all even out OK eventually, and have a paint job befitting a three hundred dollar car :-).Originally posted by 25HorseplayLooks good! (nice hood) Post pictures of the whole car touched up!

Doesn't sound like the sun is going to come out today (or the rest of the week), so here are some pics in the gloom:
I'm not going to get a job in a body shop by showing this, but it's not too bad  . I fooled around with the big dent in the passenger door for a while but was only making it worse so I stopped. The dent towards the front of the passenger side fender looks like it will pop out fairly easy, but I don't feel like working on it now. Once I fix that, find the door trim pieces, and find a good hubcap I think the exterior will be done. Done enough, anyway :? .
