First off, has anybody towed any Festiva with an Auto Festiva? I can't fully drive a 5 speed yet (don't know crap about hill starting) and the 2nd one is also 5 speed.... one runs and drives, the other doesn't.... we would need to go about 220 miles roughly towing a Festiva, mostly going north on I-5.... I would need somebody possibly my dad to drive the other Festiva if I were to pick up 2 Festivas and would have to have it all done in one weekend... would I survive the trip? My auto does well now that I know how to use the gears on city/"country" roads plus it survives the 2 hours to Granite Falls, WA from my house in Kingston going 50+ mph (with flags).... what is needed to be done to tow on the festiva? I really don't wanna use the truck as it gets maybe 10 MPG if that... I would need to practice driving it first though.... the festiva even with decreased gas milage would still be better then our truck

I haven't towed with a festiva but have with other vehicles, manuals and auto. Keep it slow, don't accelerate hard, and don't let the tranny shift back and forth between gears. The festiva should do ok as long as you are nice to it. I have exceeded towing limits on many vehicles and as long as I wasn't in a rush to get there and was nice to the transmission, the vehicles did fine.The Festiva Store

man the only way youre going to really be able to drive a manual is to just do it. If you can stop and go constantly, then daily it. You will learn where the clutch is catching, how much gas you need to give it, and then after you have a feel for the car, a hill start isnt really any different from anything else. basically all your doing is pulling the clutch out and giving it more gas to not roll backwards.Comment

Your only going to save @ $90.00 by using the festy. Thats if you get 25mpg while towing. I'd use the truck,thats whats its for right?
