          You can multitask.

Nice pics in that article. This is an excellent example of how you can't believe what you read just because it's there. Ask Charlie or Greg about how crappy these cars are. Or anyone getting over 50 MPG, or sticking a washing machine in one, or going past 300K miles, or......

BTW Charlie, I think you should carry a washing machine in the back of your racecars to give the other cars a chance.....

Any article that does not have an author's name attached has no credibility in my opinion.

I was thinking the same thing. I would love to know what the author drives... My bet is a Chevy Vega.

This article is hilariously poorly written. There is no proof what so ever actually presented that the festiva or aspire are bad cars. The author just repeats that same line over and over like it will some how be more persuasive after the twentieth time. Only fact that is presented is that a total of 350,000 festivas were made between 1988 and 1993 which actually isn't that far off the number of civics (about 240k between 88-91) or corollas (about 300k between 87-92) made during the same years. It was the early 90s everyone was lining up to buy explorers and jeeps. No company in North America was focused on small cars when they could just recycle old truck parts into SUVs and make 3 times the profit on every vehicle.

I would understand perhaps if he was comparing to a luxury car but a Fiesta ?Funny.

                            My comment posted there:

Probably devised and written by oil companies to SELL GASOLINE. Festivas and Aspires are GREAT cars, and usually driven many many trouble free miles by those who take care of them. My 88 Festiva had over 275K when I had to sell it and still ran great. My '96 Aspire now has still only 114K trouble free miles and gets over 42 mpg. Like the Geo metros, these cars still have a HUGE loyal following, because there are some people who want to drive smaller high-mileage cars that the U'S. car makers quit offering about the time we went to war over oil again in the early 2000's. Ford renamed the Escort the Focus and pretended that it replaced the Aspire. But much larger in every way

The author does not know how lucky he is, not to be known by "The Mighty Festivaites". What wrath we would heave upon Him.
                              I hate being Bi-Polar, it's awesome.
