temperature seending unit

muy grand son cant seem to locate the unit in his1990 festy... no temp reading,,i suggested wire off the sending unit.. i need to send him some info >>TIA for your input

If it is for the temperature gauge on the instrument cluster, it is a one wire sensor shown at the location in the picture.

thx for the info...he is college and i loaned him the festy with manual to read/repair..i will pass the info on to him,,his 88 thunderbird is not very fuel efficient,,he is do engine modifications,so the festy handy..Tx gary
