  • Phantom Grip.... yes or no?

For my B6T project car I have a couple of stock E-series transmissions available and another which has already had a Phantom Grip LSD installed in it. Looking for your input on whether or not to use the Phantom Grip equipped transmission or not.

Here's what I will be running:
    - stock B6T managed by a Rocketchip equipped ECU
    - Spec Stage 2 clutch
    - stock weight flywheel

I do not plan on any drag racing and it's not very likely that I will be doing any other form of racing. The primary use for the car will be as a daily driver and enjoying the twisty back roads I've shared on my blog.

    Thanks.

I am not familiar with the Phantom grip, but we have found a viscus limited slip useful in snow, ice and mud.
    No car too fast !

DamKid will advise against it, I'm sure he will chime in.

They're garbage and don't work worth a shhh.... crap

They add a lot of stress on the diff pin and tend to cause them to eject from the diff, even after you weld the pin directly to the diff housing.... ask me how I know......

Correction, save it for a G trans with an mfactory.

Oh yes you're right, he did say E series

I'd think with the weak E series, any extra traction would help the trans break apart

Cost is not a factor at the moment. I have two stock E series on hand and a third one with the PG already installed. I think I will go with the stock transmission for now.

                  Thanks for your input.
