  • Aspire a/c compressor on Festiva

    my Festiva has all vbelts and was wanting to know if I can u can use the A/C compressor from the Aspire on the Festiva? the pullys are not compatable with older A/C compressors?

    please let me know with a solution!

      Aspire has a rib type belt, I'm not sure if you have the room to add a serpentine belt.

        Is the bare festiva compressor the same part number as the bare aspire compressor ?

        The complete compressor will be different numbers but the compressor without clutch and pulley assembly may be the same .

            On my 95 aspire it looks like it mounts to the block differently than on my factory-installed ac on the 89
            admit nothing - deny everything - make accusations

              Use the ac comp mount bracket from the aspire and it's a quad mount ( 4 bolts through the comp ) and depending on what crank you have you can use the big nose pulley from the aspire or search for an 88 89. 323 with ac and power steering . It will have a small nose five groove pulley on it .
              Then you go up against getting the ac lines to work . Good luck
              New build on the way .

                So...the only thing for this idea is there is a mounting bracket that fits the festy, every thing else must be modified or adapted, and in addition the other pulleys must all be converted to serpentine ribbed ?

                  I have all aspire components (block, heads, cam, pullys, ect.) in my Festiva and if I install the lines from the Aspire along with the compressor you think it will work? the system held some what of a charge but wasn't getting cold

                    If the clutch controls are working right, the system is charged right and has no restriction to freon flow other than where liquid turns to gas and there is plenty of air coming through the condenser..
