That's the G4A-HL. It's a lot bigger. The F4EAT came in the Aussie aspire so it must have mounts too. Just gotta figure out controls.

Also being an "F" trans like the stock F3A, I'm gonna assume stock auto axles will work as well. The F4EAT is in millions of cars here in the states while the G4AHL is apparently very rare, being only found in *some* late BF 323's.

I have an F4EAT from a Kia Rio I got from Shadetree.

Personally I miss my auto. People go on about how slow they are, but they really do okay for a daily work commute. If I had my choice, BP and a 4spd auto would be an awesome little DD.

Driving for me is neither a right nor a privilege. Driving is my passion, as it was for the people who invented the automobile, the people who paved the first roads and the people who continue to improve the automobile. Please respect this passion.

my 1st one was an auto. it was a great DD till someone T boned it. its biggest downfall was up very long mountain grades like in v'ginny and west v'ginny. halfway up it couldn't maintain 60mph but kicking down to 2nd and the attendant high RPM scream was bearable only till i got back up to 65mph. then back into 3rd and immediately start losing speed again. so back and forth it went like that till the crest. i'd really rather have had more power than another gear. ford shoulda coulda put 1.6 SOHCs in the auto cars to make up for the weight and power sucking deficit. or, dream on, make a hot hatch contender with the DOHC.

How hard would it be to get a F4EAT trans here in the states? I have seen several threads about it possibly fitting?

Since I retired, I'm never really in a hurry any more. My Trixie is an automatic and I really enjoy driving here around town.
Usually fill her up once sometime twice a month. I never drive more than 45 on all the non-interstate roads I travel on around town. Until
you get out into the country the max interstate speeds is 60 so I almost never driver her over 60 mph.
She's been averaging right at 34 MPG after her recent tune up. Except for bridges, I really don't have any hills here so I guess that helps.

For interstate travel on long trips though, I take Nellie and almost never drive above 70. I averaged 41 MPG in Nelly driving round trip
from Charleston to Louisville over the 4th, so I can't complain.

According to wikipedia it was used in some Mazdas, Fords, and Kias for the US market from 1990 on, so they should be available, the sensors and computer control would also be required to
                      make them work though.
