    odd car radio plug (I posted here to get more hits)

    bought a car radio with an odd plug.... looks like it comes out the back of radio and goes to a switch (maybe the speaker wires) than to an odd plug... would like to know how to at least bench test it without having to cut the plug but have no idea what vehicle it may go to...

      Did you buy it new or used?

      Get any instruction manuals with it?

      Personally if I ever question the functions of a CD player, I do a Google search of the model number (should be somewhere on it) and can usually find what I'm looking for

        Control for wheel buttons? Seams that most newer cars have them and some new radios have them as well but I'm with dk look in the manual if you don't have one you can probably find an e manual online.

          its an AM/FM/AUX with no CD..... I got it new (opened the seal on box myself) but not with a harness that would have came in the box so the wire diagram doesn't do good.... the harness is way different than the one in the diagram.... it's a Panasonic cq-cm120u

          plus it has a separate mic circuit but I don't need that

            Maybe go back to the store you bought it from and ask? I've never seen that setup on a stereo before

                Old.... I found one from Metra.... http://www.metraonline.com/part/PA01-0001 that should work for you. If you have a local car audio shop they should be able to order it, if they don't stock it. BTW I only found a cr 120 manual and this plug looks like the one they show SHOULD have been in your box....

                  If you cannot find a mating connector, just re-terminate with open barrel terminals and a more common connector. I recycle ones from the junkyard. They give me them for free. I just release the terminals when I get get home. The only thing I need to buy are the nice brass terminals from Eastern Beaver.

                    the speaker wires from that plug went into a speaker selector switch.... got the plug that should have came in the box from eBay and should be in the mail and arrive next 2 weeks....
