They are correct. To small market, to old of a design, no $$'s in it.
To compare, I own and restore old (aircooled) Porsche's, using the 914 as an comparison ...inexpensive & plentiful when relatively new. They are only now starting to appreciate. But aftermarket suppliers that come from the 911 ranks dip a toe in only to find the owners/enthusiast's tolerance for 911 type $$$ still doesn't exist, so they bail.
& that online community is 10X this one.
