Need advices in putting two Festiva into one

Hi guys, I need a Festiva to work because it's awesome on fuel efficiency and can survive abuse a lot.
I found two Festiva at local junk yard, one auto one manual, both fuel injector powered. Although I was told both motors and transmissions are good, but I am not sure since they don't run. One is missing rear wheels and tires, brakes etc-just no rear things. Don't know about rusty or not since the bottom is very close to the ground. The other one has bad rust bottom- has hole under the carpet, don't know about suspension part. Both needs $500, maybe I can get it down when I buy them, but I don't know whether I should do this- put them together to make one out of them. I never did this before, so I don't know the difficulty of doing this.
Please help me to understand the process and the difficulty, then I can decide to proceed or get a working one, thank you.

Sounds like a major project with too many unknowns. Get a working one.

I thought there would be too much work to do since I have no experience to put them together. maybe some parts are broken on both cars, then I will be in big trouble if the problem parts are engine and transmission.

Not just that, but rust is a biggie too. And changing from auto to manual or vice versa. This sounds like something for a very experienced shadetree mechanic--but I think a guy like that simply wouldn't touch it, and move on. Too time-consuming for the expected payoff.

Wouldn't hurt to be more specific on your location. Someone might know of something better local for you.

The rusty one with the hole in the floor is worth $75 for parts. Don't pay any more than that. I paid $248 for a Festiva with no engine but at least the body was not very far gone. Always check under the carpet when buying any used car.

just get one already on the road, junk yards are not the place to be used car shopping.

Just find a cheap one that runs for now. Drive it, dont do any unnessasary work on it and save on your gas money. Then watch kijiji, craigslist, this forum, newspapers... For a good festiva with no rust. Buy it and sell your first one for the same as you bought it for. Might take a year or 2 if your not willing to travel far but youll find a nice one at some point.

And even if a rust free one comes up that has a wrecked motor or transmission or something at least that is a known problem, easily fixable and nothing else should be wrong. Much unlike those 2 wrecker cars

Thanks, it's hard to find a running one here. I am always so jealous of those guy close to many festivas.
