Ok so I see everyone is running the BP engines an turbo engines and I like to be different on anything I build so I'm wondering if anyone thinks a ford 2.3 liter out of an older mustang or pinto will work in a festiva or even maybe putting my body on a samurai chassis .

The Lima 2.3L is iron and weighs way too much to even think of putting it in a Festiva. Not to mention it was never in a FWD application. One guy did install one in a Tempo years ago, though.Rick

79.9 is the wheel base on a samurai and 90.3 on the festiva.
I've never measured a 2.3 but I would assume it's too long and have no idea what transmission you would find to make it all work. I'm sure you would have better luck making a 2.3 from the focus work as its already fwd. If it will even physically fit.Last edited by william; 10-04-2015, 07:20 PM.

Don't be different. Cause that would just be the same. People start these crazy ideas and never go anywhere.Last edited by Flyin4stroke; 10-04-2015, 07:32 PM.1988 Ford Festiva "Sonic" BPT g25mr MS2 standalone ecu, FOTY '11, Best Beater FMV, Fan Favorite FMVI
