Easiest thing to do is get on eBay and get a new tank for like $80

Also, remember the 2 door Aspire has the same tank as an FI Festiva, so if you can get a good used one from a later model Aspire that will work even cheaper.

Cause, cheapness is it's own reward.

I just looked, anywhere from $86 or so up to $200. It's amazing they're still available.

Yeah they dont have those for us unfortunately. Get a new one and paint the crap out of it with rust preventative, truck bed coating, etc.

they look like a pretty simple shape i wonder if someone could vacuum mold the 2 halfs and glue/plastic weld them together

Nice plastic would be better than metal.

Simple shape yes, if i had a slightly bigger rotocaster at work i could make it in one piece but just the materials for the mould would be above $2000, not to mention labour.

I didn't think it was too common on the festivas but i could easily be wrong. Older accords it was almost guaranteed to happen to. I was looking on ebay yesterday at expensive festiva stuff and i was surprised to see brand new gas tanks but you know what surprised me more? This: http://www.ebay.ca/ulk/itm/161561170886

Puddy on enough space for 14 gallons, mold that and a plastic tank, no rust, and the same range as the diesel VW without all those oxides of nitrogen!
