89 carb death

274,000 miles carb is dead. First actual breakdown besides maintenance. Ordered a new one from national carburetor out of Florida. I drive at least 100 miles a day for my job (ironworker) and this car has saved me so much money. I love my Festiva.

Did you spray some carb cleaner?

carb has a sticking float, carb cleaner tried. With the number of miles I just wanted a new one.

New carburetor installed. Choke pull off wire had wrong end. Adjusted idle and it runs great. Took lots of pictures of the nest of vacuum lines. National carburetor out of Florida $189 + $100 core
