Lock-up Torque Converter

I have researched this and the only year auto transmission that had this was the 97 aspire. Is this a worthwhile upgrade to the festiva Automatic? What would the difference between the two be? A friend of mine has a beat down 97 aspire and was telling me about the transmission. I like my 93GL's automatic, granted it could use another gear, or bigger tires.

I have one stashed away I was gonna use, but I was told it kills performance. I believe it locks at around 3000 rpm. Its a centrifugal clutch, so you cant control it.

the 97 aspire isn't drivable so I can't guage how it performs against my 93. If anyone has a 97 apsire feel free to chime in haha!

Not meaning to high jack, but I thought ALL Aspire automatics had the lockup converter.

Nope only 97 and I think 96.
