  • heat soak issue

Well having a heat soak prob I have an 89 with b3 all stock and an 81 escort carb, made a base/adapter plate out of alum plate then put a 1/2 inch fiber spacer in to separate the carb from the base plate I think this has helped but I will drive somewhere park and come out 15 min or so later and it may start right up or it will just crank for a few then spit and sputter as if it is flooded I have pulled the air cleaner and before I put the spacer in I could see the fuel pouring out due to the heat soak issue, after the spacer got put in I do not see this at all no gas dripping but still this off and on hard starting anyone have any tips or ideas this is a recent rebuild and carb swap so I have not got the carb tuned in perfect yet. could I have the distributor off a little causing excessive engine heat? But with that said it runs so good its not funny and tons of power compared to the old tired motor it used to be well thats all thanks
