So it is the intake valve on my b8 16 valve comparison between both intake valves on the same cyl.

that is exactly what it was took it out got some air in it, primed it with some oil and went for a drive all better now.

ever since my water pump went out though I had to replace my alternator and now my timing belt tensioner.

So If anyone has any issues with hydraulic lifters try removing them, Blast some air into them if it is collapsed (use some oil to help if it sticks bad), squeeze it a little if you can with your hands just to ensure freedom of movement, I like to soak mine in oil for about 5 min and squeeze it submerged in the oil, put it back in the engine, dead crank it for a little until the oil light goes away and stays gone for a while, and start it up and drive it around with some high rpms so you can get the high oil pressure to that hydraulic lifter. That is what solved my issue I feel confident it can solve many others due to a friend of mine had a similar issue with brand new lifters on his mitsu 3000gt.
