  • Considering a festiva purchase!

I saw a festiva on a local late night used car show an hour or so ago. All the info was that it was a 1989 Festiva with 89,000 miles for 300 bucks. I've never drove or rode in one, but I am looking for a cheap, fuel efficient car and I have found that it's a very reliable car. I really want it, but was wondering...

Is it more likely to be automatic? 3 speed?

Does this thing have a decent amount of power?

I live in the southeast US.

I plan to use is as a personal car. Possibly strip out the back seats and weld in a roll cage for fun.

What do you guys think? Good deal?

It looked to be incredibly clean. When test driving it tomorrow, what things should I look at and listen for to make sure it's in good condition?

Buy it. Even it it's a automatic you should get at least mid 30s for mpg and they're reliable.

Do you guys have any idea where I'd go to look for this car or something I could use as a project rally car? nothing too powerful, just RWD and not too heavy.

I want this car as a personal A to B car but I'm looking for something I could use for dirt road fun as well.
