  • AXLES

Been trying to read through everything.

Looks like with a G transmission you need the capri axel for the drivers side, and either the intermediate shaft and the passenger side capri axel, or a rio axel for the passenger side without the intermediate shaft.

    Do I have that right?

    Any other options?

Have a lead on a escort GT and I'll make the adapter to convert it to cable.

    Thanks

Yes that's correct . 01/02 rio fits . You will need to make all three engine /trans mounts either way you choose . . Also if you decide to go Capri axle and intermediate shaft and BP , you will need an adaptor to mount the shaft to the block .

Above bracket only works for Capri trans , not egt trans . Thanks for posting link !

The intermediate shaft adapter won't work with the EGT tranny but the hydraulic to cable conversion bracket will work.

That is very good to know as I have the EGT G. I will need that cable convert kit!!

How much difference is in these 2 trans? So I still have to make my own, or is there another source for EGT brackets?

They are clocked slightly different from each other, that's why they need different mounts when using the same engine. If I could get a hydraulic G-series tranny to Nate, I might be able to talk him into making an adapter for the hydraulic G-series.

Is there a kia axel for the driverside?

                    AKA the short one.

Might have an escort gt lined up.

fitsbain, you cant mix and match that way. You must keep axles "Paired Up" with each other....

IT's been confirmed that you can use the capri axel on the drivers (short side) and a rio for the passenger side (long), thus bypassing the need for the intermediate shaft.

I'm just wondering if there are options for the drivers (short) side.
