  • Wife is gonna kill me...

So I just texted someone on CL for another Festiva. Its a 91 5speed with 175k miles with working A/C. The guy is asking $600 obo but said he just wants it gone so I'm gonna offer him $300 for it and see if I can keep him under $400. The body looks to be in good shape but he said it is having some starting issues and brakes are a little off. I'm sure my wife will be thrilled when I put a third white Festiva in the yard...

    Collect them all.
Driving for me is neither a right nor a privilege. Driving is my passion, as it was for the people who invented the automobile, the people who paved the first roads and the people who continue to improve the automobile. Please respect this passion.

I know the feeling. Between my son and I we currently own 11 of these little babies. Each are named and have their own personality and quirks.

Sorry to hear of your impending death. How could she possibly think that two white Festys are enough?

I've looked at that Festy for a week or two - too sick to mess with another old car myself-
and wanted to send him a message- I'll bet the starting problem is in the fussy-ble links now.
Coincidentally- that white festy has just about as many miles as the very first 88 I bought way back when in '97.

I drove it more than another 100,000 before I had to sell it.

I just looked at it again on my Favorites list and he has it up to $650 now- Did you offend him?

Yeah, and put in your will that you want to be buried with a Festiva steering wheel in your hands.

He's lowered the price now and added more descriptions to and problems- apparently the car cabn start with a jump-

but it has brake problems - he thinks might be a booster problem- BIG replacement repair I think

This one may be more viable- a few dollars more- has been listed under "Fiesta":

I have found that it is best to search Fiesta and Festiva if you are looking for one. These people around Jacksonville aren't know to be the brightest.
