  • Swapping out carburetor for fuel injection

I'm looking at keeping my festiva but I'd like to switch it from carburetor to fuel injected, is this possible, practical. What all is involved in doing so. Is it the same intake manifold? Something the average mechanic could do themselves, should be pretty straight forward. Just wanting others opinions. Thanks

Best to find an EFI parts car. Need the wire harness. EFI gas tank or use an inline pump. Intake manifold. Fuel pump block off for the head. Among other things I cant remember.

That's a good idea. I'll look into it. It'll be good to have a parts car lying around.

Does it matter what years your swapping out for, mine is an 89, would be it to ok to lineup with a 92, I would think that these cars are very similar and not a lot changed during the years. I'm guessing they are 1.3 engines so intake and all that should line up. Also is it possible to swap transmissions while doing so, mine is a 4 speed, like to switch it to a 5 if the other car I get has one it
