spark plug broken off in head

  • spark plug broken off in head

    so i bought this festiva that the timing belt was broke. I tore it all down bought a new belt and went to take the spark plug out and it was rounded off and it will not come out for nothing! i chisled all the porclin out of the plug to try and pull it out with a easy out and that wont budge it either i dont want to put much more money into this car since i paid 50 dollars for it and all any ideas? oh and ive heated it up a few times with penatrent oil and let it set.

    This is a test for patience.
    Keep trying.
    Ask some mechanics what their favorite tool is for getting out a seized plug.
    I hope you don't have to remove the head. But, it may come to that.
    Just be gentle with the head. It's soft aluminum.

      Try an air chisel with a blunt end tool big enough to cover the end of the spark plug base. Turn the power down on the chisel so it does a light tap and hold it on the plug for a few seconds. Use some penetrating oil and your easy out to try to remove it. If it doesn't come out the first time, repeat the operation.

        I don't know how well it would work for steel into aluminum but heat then a candle works good for steel/steel.
