  • My first festiva !!

    Hey wassup guy!
So I just picked up my festiva last week. I got it for $600 and drove it 2.5 hours from Vermont to my
Parents house in New Hampshire. It made the trip like a champ! It's a 5 speed with 153k. I am not sure what the trim is but it doesn't have a passenger mirror or ac or a rear wiper. But the car was oil treated its whole life so it's pretty rust free for a new englander. The rear seats have been removed previous to my purchase. The car had one owner previous and she had a dog so she wanted the room. Also the car had a
Car phone and fog lights !! Mechanically it runs great but it could use a wheel bearing pretty soon. Lmk what you guys think! I'm looking to do a b6t swap soon IMG_0637.jpgIMG_0634.jpg also the car has a plug in block heater that you can see hanging from the front !! Pretty rad car

Looks great, especially for a NW car! Great deal, and welcome to the forums! Can't wait to see the progression on this one.

Rust free for $600 is an amazing deal! You should be able to pick up a passenger mirror and rear seat for real cheap if your patient. Which wheel bearing is going?

Nice find! Welcome to the forum! The B6t is a great swap. What part of N.H. are you in? I'm originally from ME.

            Awesome find.

A note about the wheel bearings: do not put off changing the rears, they're cheap and easy. A failure in the rear is costly. The passenger rear spindle nut is REVERSE thread. Both spindle nuts must be removed and installed by hand (no power tools).

While you're in there, you can inspect the shoes and wheel cylinders for wear and leakage, and lube and adjust the e-brake actuator. Getting the shoes adjusted so that they drag the slightest bit will give you good pedal feel provided there's no air in the system.
