  • gas mileage on my B6

Hey, I got my first mileage reading after the second tank of gas

    27.5!!

    GREAT!!

That is with the B6, and FLOORING IT... almost constantly...LOL...

75-85 on the freeway (cause at 65, it sounds like CRAP.. resonance..)

    and flooring it everywhere..

almost 28 is SUPER for the way I have driven it...

That is also with it smoking when coming off trailing throttle... smells like gas.. I am thinking the carb is loading up a bit.. or is just jetted too fat.. of course, there may be valve seals, or rings going too... time will tell.. I hate the frigging smoke though.. that will HAVE to be remedied.

im right around 390-400 miles tank, running the car like its a balls out rally car each way on my 65 mile ride to work, I guess its the straight long shots on the highway that get the mileage.

No festiva yet.. still searching for one.. but my GTiR gets around 12MPG and I have to run 94 Octane fuel in it. :? so that should sheer you up a bit ... This is why I absolutely need a festiva for daily use!!!!

heh heh, I don't really care.. I didn't buy it for the mileage... just for the fun. I could really care less what it gets. I just thought 27+ was great for the way I have been driving it.. smoking the tires every chance I get, 0-60 runs, 0-80 runs.. 1/4 miles... etc..

I just did a long trip and I got 28-30mpg consistently with a BP installed. I think the fuel economy should be the same no matter what engine is installed. Any thoughts on this?

Yeah, that sounds right. I am POSITIVE I would get over 30 once the "new" wears off..

You guys gotta remember, this is the first time I have owned a swapped Festy.. and it is just TOO much fun right now, I have only had it a week or so...

Well depending on size of motor and which transmission the MPG will vary. Just because you have the BP you have 2 tenths of a liter larger than the b6. If you were to inject the same amount of fuel then you would technically run leaner. Now condition of the motor has a lot to do with mileage too. If his rings are worn out then he could be losing compression. Or if his carb is gunked up or if his seals are leaky, then he isn't getting the fuel mileage that his car could.

Take it back to the back porch, join the 3 string revolution.

When I first put my b6 in I remember that first couple weeks. Nothing is so novel as a 2nd gear wheelspin in a festiva. 8)

It was the one you saw on Ebay, but I bought it locally, not by bidding.

I will tell you that I didn't pay a third of what he had invested in it, and that isn't even counting labor.
