Headliner info

Has anyone taken the headliner from an 89 that has the rods and installed into a 90-93?If so is this a direct fit with a place to insert the rods?

Not an exact answer to the question, but I had a 90-93 headliner installed in my 1989. While the old one was out, I added a fair bit of soundproofing material as well. Might as well, while you're in there!

I have no idea where the rods go, even though I have cut into soft ceilings before. They must go into the standard channels that support the roof. Why would you want a soft headliner? I prefer the hard one. I also put large pieces of sound insulation in the ceiling.

Long story short I brought a parts car.Guy I bought from reserved some parts including headliner that he wanted to flip into a 90-93.I want it for an 89 so I was checking to see if he can even use it.
