    Stock b3 alternator I assume going. Old need a other option?

    First, don't assume. Test it. A few simple jabs with a DVOM will tell you it's condition. Be sure to test with a known good battery and clean contacts throughout the system... Just because it's new doesn't make it good. I've had 10yo batteries come in and still be able to outperform ones that are pulled fresh off the shelf, and I've also had fresh off the shelf batteries with sulfated or broken plates.

    To answer the question: the factory Capri alt is an upgrade from 55 to 75A IIRC. Your local starter/alternator shop should be able to rebuild a stock alt to double the factory rating for roughly the same price as a new unit.
