Put a small spacer at the front of the cross member. Or slot the front motor mount to role the engine slightly forward for firewall clearance. I've seen bps done like this without firewall bashing.

Thanks William, I dropped the front cross member around 3/8" and it was still touching the firewall. My trusty 4 lb. sledge hammer helped. I am close to running. If I only had a way to get to Lowes. Maybe I can find another $200 Festiva for a back up car......LOL.'88 Festiva LX 5 speed, A/C, Carb, restored $$$ body paint, badly wrecked @ 200k.
