I'm glad neither one of my Festivas cost as much as the intake manifold gasket, actually I got the '93 and the Capri XR2 donor car for $500. Lets see I have $500 do I want a Festiva and a Capri, both drivable BTW, or do I want to buy a pretty red shift knob?

I sold the control module for the hideaway headlights from the Capri on eBay for $140 and for just a moment felt guilty. I almost left it in the car when I had it hauled off....LOL.

This is becoming the reality I think for anything 80s and soon to be 90s cars. The last time I saw a MX73 Cressida in the junkyard was well over a year ago so body parts are getting very difficult to come by. This is why I tend to keep all my old parts now, just i case I need to fab something up. As far as the engine stuff goes, best to swap for modern these days, it's just those body parts... The "Cash for Clunkers" program did not help with this.

Rock Auto still has a good selection of parts at very reasonable prices for 1975 Hondas.

sitting, sometimes literally on mounds of new and used Festiva parts i can't say i wouldn't like to see the value of old and OEM parts increase in value. it's not part of my retirement portfolio and the majority of the stock is pegged for future builds and restoration but if i happen to lose interest (not likely) or become incapacitated in some way it would be nice to get back some of my investment if i decided to sell parts. already some sellers on ebay are asking outrageous prices for new and used parts. whether they sell is another question. i doubt the mongrel Festiva will ever be as collectible as the more mainstream japanese rice burners of the 90s but a rising tide is supposed to lift all boats.
