  • Bought another Yellow Festiva!

Bought this Yellow to be used as a parts car but then I found out how straight the car is and I just can't bring myself to tear this thing apart so I'm pretty sure I will end up filing for a Title since it didn't come with one. Yellows are just so "Rare" now. It is supposed to run but have a bad clutch but I have yet to find out. I think it hasn't been moved since around 2010 from the receipts that I found in the car. The guy also says that the A/C works but I can only hope that is the case. This car was on Craigslist for about 9 months...The car belonged to an old lady that didn't want to sell the car but she finally died so the Son In-law sold it afterwards but couldn't find the title.

of unconventional colors that is one of the nicest. not too bright but enough for visibility in a crowd of suv/cuvs. i look at fiat 500s, minis, chev spark colors to get a hint of what the paint would look like on a festiva.

          Nice Car!
          What year is it?
My Yellow 1990 LPlus just turned over to !02K. I like that Sandlewood interior.
Yours shows a Tach but Is that narrow or wide side molding? It has a Tach cluster which came on the LPlus. I see from the picture that the top of the drivers seat is all fabric and I see that it also has door pockets and the right door panel is LPlus but the top of the door is not covered in vinyl.

I'm confused is this an L or LPlus?

I also see that there is no 134a adapter on the AC charge port so it must still have Freon in the system.

Nice score. When I lived in FL I could never find a festiva on craigs.

I think that the only year Yellow was released was 1990.

I'm not as familiar with the Trim packages as I should be by now but I can tell you that is has a Black accent around the Rear Side windows as well as a Rear Defroster. There is no badge on the back stating what trim level it is. Would it say on the Door Stickers?

According to the color info chart( accuracy ?), yellow was available in 90 and 91. The 89 FSM indicates that the 6th and 7th digits of the VIN indicates trim level. In 89, 06=L, and 07=LX( as in KNJBT06K9K6100000, the 06 after KNJBT would indicate an L). You would need the 90 or 91 FSM to decipher those numbers, but it would seem it would be consistent with how they did it in 89. Anyone have that 90 or 91 FSM?
After some googling, it appears that in 90 05=L, 06=L+, and 07=LX.
Try this link on the VIN. http://www.vincheckup.com/cars/ford/festiva

My 1990 Pop Yellow LPlus with sandlewood interior has a trim code of BP.
For the 1990 year I believe the trim code began with A for L models, B for LPlus models and C for LX models.
The only thing that confuses me is the lack of the vinyl on the door top.

Here is a link showing trim codes but it cannot be completely accurate because it indicates Pop Yellow color was only on L models and my 1990 LPlus is Pop Yellow.

This was the parts car that I spoke to you about on PM but it is so clean that I am going to keep it. I won't be needing that Light Harness that you were going to send though because I bought a pair of Smoothies from Fastivaca and he sent the Harness as well. Thanks for the offer though.

The Guy was not easy to work with honestly. I was supposed to pick it up the weekend prior but it is a 3.5 hour drive away from me and I didn't hear anything from the guy when I tried to contact the night before and the day of so I waited for a while and tried calling again with no answer. I went ahead and canceled my Uhaul because I had plans with my dad later that day and wouldn't have time to wait around for the guy to answer. He texted me about an hour later but I told him that it was too late that I had a strict schedule that day and maybe we can work something out in the next week or two but then he texted me and told me not to contact him again.... But... I have 2 phones and I wanted the car lol.

Luckily I brought two extra good wheels with me or it would have never made it on the trailer because the Front tire has Hole in the side of it and the back ones were quite dry rotted too. It took us almost an hour to get it on the trailer... The Rear brakes were locked up so I had to unhook the trailer and drag the car with the truck while they jumped on the bumper to get it to actually role.

Nice find!!! There's rarely any Festys on CL around here, when they are they're usually trashed.

It is an L+. Above the Door cards there are manu vertical scratches on both sides like the lady had a dog or something. Maybe they is why there is no cover there?

Yes i remember we conversated about that yeller one.I was in FL and wanted it.If i had been on a manic high it is possible nothing would have stopped me from acquiring it lol.Thankfully my practical side talked myself out of it this time.I also was tempted to buy those smoothies lol.I had sold one off a project car when someone else needed one knowing i may never get to that project anyway.I enjoy the hunt and the rush of aquisition way more than the pride of owner ship so i am learning to curb that impulse.
