  • gas leak...

So i got my festiva and it has a gas leak and i was wondering the 3 lines lines under the driver door by the back tire. What should i do? Replace the gas line and the tank? You can also smell gas on the inside.

It's probably the tank they tend to rust where the upper and lower halfs of the tank are welded together.
Aftermarket tanks are available for about 100 bucks.

Yeah you need to yank that tank and replace the lines. That's a rusty mess.

Double triple check for rust where the rear axle beam mounts. That's what shadetree is asking about.

I would replace that tank. You hit a bump hard enough and those lines could rupture completely and you would be in big trouble.

First thing I would do is buy a fire extinguisher and keep it handy at all times.

I have a filler neck and all that stuff that you access from the inside of the car under the cover on the left side.
