  • Lowered springs

I'm looking for some lowered, stiffer springs for an 89 festiva, i was hoping someone could help me out. I'm looking for a 1"-2" drop maybe.

Look for the advanced dynamic suspension thread in the suspension section. It's invaluable with the info it provides.

Yeah, about $500.00 and you won't believe the difference! I put 120 lb springs in front and 80 lb in the back. Still a pretty smooth ride, really low, and handles like you wouldn't believe!

Yeah, same in Australia. I paid over $1100 on mine 2 years ago.

All my parts arrived this week to build coilovers as per advanced suspension.

VW Mk3 coilovers off ebay (Australia)- $320
KYB VW Mk1 rear struts off ebay (Lithuania) - $140
              Black magic springs (2 x #017-012, 2 x #020-015) from Southwest Speed - $348 (includes shipping cost $100 usd)
Kia Rio front strut mounts off amazon $90
Coilover sleeves to suit the MK1 struts purchased locally $138

              Total $1036 delivered to Brisbane.

Otherwise, you could try springs from a Mazda 121 Metro, they bolt straight in and will be stiffer but you will probably need to cut them for lower ride height.
You should be able to find a complete Metro for around $400, with that you can upgrade your motor, gearbox, brakes, steering, suspension, seats etc etc

I have some lowered springs I had taken off a Festiva I purchased. I don't know anything about them. All I know is it made the Festy too low for me to flat tow it home.
When I get home tomorrow I will take a picture of them and post it here.
