  • Festiva bonanza at PnP

    Hello all.
For anyone in the Calgary area looking for parts or for swap material do I have some news for you!!!

Just put in the Barlow Trail yard this week...
    • Five Festivas, a couple of which are GL Sports (sorry, no spoilers, they were already gone)
    • An Escort GT with the BP and manual transmission (hydraulic clutch)
    • Early Mercury Tracer if you're looking for a B6 (didn't check to see if it was auto or manual)
    • At least one Aspire

There's an Aspire rear beam in the back of one of the Festivas, a couple of loose fenders and a rust free hatch. At least four of the Festivas have less than 200,000km (125,000 miles) on them. Wasn't really paying attention but one or two of them were automatics. One had Aspire seats in it.

    Hope that helps someone out....

Hello Ian, how bad were the Sport seat covers.

The fronts weren't in very good shape but the back seats were very nice. I may be back there in the next day or so. If I go I will send you photos.

ok that works, thanks. I have often wondered if you could use the rear seat material on the front, I know, you would have to cut and sew but why not give it a try.

I routinely search Row52 and saw those before you posted.. no such luck around here. There must have been a lot of new Festivas sold in your area.

Yous should pull all the good headlights. Someone is always looking for a good one.

That blue one is a 1993 so it must be Aqua instead of Surf Blue FestYboy. Then again.. the year could be wrong since the listing calls it green?
But if the vin is correct. It is a 93 and the body looks to be in great shape.

It's Aqua and it's only the front wheels. The back wells are stock steel.

might sound a little crazy. but I need a chunk of the car cut off and mailed to me. I have a rust spot passenger side lower area just in front of the rear tire. I have pictures of what I need.

yeah I'm not sure what it would take to saw zaw a small hunk of that lower section off and mail it.

Do you have the junk yards phone number? see if they will do it for me?

I very much doubt they would do it for you as its strictly a pull it yourself yard. Their number is 403-279-7777 if yiu want try. I'll check on the rust situation when I'm back there.

a line up like this was common in JYs around here about 10 yrs ago. if you needed a part you had more than 1 car to get the one in the best condition. not so much anymore. last time i went less than a year ago there was 1 picked over Aspire. becoming extinct.
