  • Mazda flyweels and bellhousing info please

Does anyone know if the 1.9 escort motor is mazda bellhousing bolt pattern? Are FWD Mazda and rearwheel drive mazda the same pattern?Do fwd and rwd flywheels swap? thanks.
30 + Vehicle projects right now.7 Festiva/Mazda 10 GM IDK how many others, hope that helps explain all the stupid questions/shortcuts/interchanges etc. trying to liquidate so I concentrate on the good ones. Goal finish 1 amonth using as much stuff as I already have accumulated.

1.9 is a ford engine not mazda so no. All B and Z series engines have the same pattern doesn't matter fwd or rwd. Use the flywheel and clutch for whatever trans you're using. All the crank/flywheel patterns are the same.

The 1.8 BP engine was in 91-96 Escort GT's and LX-E's. They have a hydraulic G-Series transmission that can be used in a Festiva also.

Only ones I know of in the US were the Capri XR2 and the Mazda 323GT. Both had the 1.6 B6T motor. Not sure but the Miata may have had a 1.8 BP with a turbo. I have a B6D car,a BP turbo car and a soon to be B6T car.

B6D gets the best gas mileage, BPT is more fun to drive. B6D gets 35-40 mpg, BPT gets 29-34 mpg. Both have exceeded the top mpg I posted. The listed mpg is normal driving for me. B6D is basically a B6T without the turbo. I'm finding I'm driving the turbo car more than the B6D car. It's becoming my DD.

Any major difference in b6d and bpt shortblock? The reason I ask is I found a 6th Festy, nicer than any I own was going to rob my DD as a donor but now thinking a junkyard b6d swap should be cheap fast and easy. With a top swap as a later goal as I assume the turbo cars are much tougher to come buy as parts cars and I assume the lower ends are probably beat. Thanks
