  • Heck yeah, Festy!

Just have to give my car some love here with a story from this past week.

I have three cars, a 2016 Ford Fusion for my fiancee, a 1985 Corvette that is our date and summer car, and a 1991 Festiva that is the rough and dirty daily I drive to work every day.

Well, with a factory issue going on with the Fusion and Christmas coming up, we were stuck. We wanted to go see family 8 hours away in Chicago for the holidays, but we were down to the Corvette and the Festy. The Corvette is my baby and I couldn't take it out in those elements, so we were down to the 250,000 Festiva for the trip...

    And it KILLED it.

Seriously. Averaged around 50 mpg with my granny driving, was a beast through the snowstorm we got hit with in Indiana on the way up, and was even a boss in the city!

As people from big cities know, parking is a free-for-all. If you cannot find a lucky spot on the side of the road, you have to park in a lot overnight or a garage, which will charge you around $40-$50 a night where we were in Streeter.

But this little Festy fit in the tiniest open parallel parking spot. After spending two days in -13 degree temperature in the snow and wind, we came out to the car, and it fired right up - no problems, then proceeded to drive us all the way back to our warmer climate near Tennessee.

What a little beast. I can't remember a time I was this proud of a car.

The entire trip when things got bad but the Festy kept pushing on, I was patting the dash like a dog, "Good boy, keep goin".

    What a great little car.

They are good in the snow. Plus gas mileage is the great plus. I'm proud of my little festis too.
