Your allowed to drive it to a shop for repairs, for educational purposes (pretty vague), or to car meets plus 1000 miles per year of personal use. I know some people who have the tags and they say they're never bothered by the po-po.

However if you are in an accident, and you don't have a valid destination, the insurance companies are going to eat you alive.

              Nice!

The laws vary a lot state to state.

I only carry liability anyway. $47 every six months. Any thing other than liability is crazy on a festiva. One fender bender and they'll total it. Lot cheaper to pay for the book value of a festiva than to fix it. Then you end up with a salvage title.

Yes but they may deny paying for what you hit if you don't have a valid destination.

Can't see that happening since I have 1,000 miles of personal use. Could have been going anywhere . Besides I submitted my proof of insurance to the state and they still gave me the tag. The insurance company should be happy with the restricted mileage, less risk.
