Electric fan on 1993GL AC radiator but not on 88 or 89 LX

I just bought a 1993GL (automatic) with AC for parts. It has been determined that it's "factory" AC.

I notice that its "AC radiator" has an electric fan, which, due to its mounting, appears to be "factory."

Was this something added in later years? My only AC-equipped Festies are manual LXs (88/89, of course) and the newly-acquired 1993GL parts car, so I don't know if this was common to all AC-equipped FIs, GLs only, or perhaps automatics or GL automatics.

I haven't yet checked the LX wiring harnesses to see if there's a connector to plug in this "AC radiator fan" device.

They seam to put the fan on auto's but not on manuals from what I have seen.On manuals without it the metal bumper doesn't have a factory cut out for the fan.Others may have observed something different of course.

Condenser fan was on automatic transmission cars only...

Interesting. I'll keep the fan assembly in my inventory should I ever end up with a non-parts Festy automatic with a dead fan.

Mom's 90 L+ auto with factory air doesn't have a condensor fan.
