carb mounting studs

I need some input from the hive mind.

Are the studs that mounted the carb to an 88 removable from the intake manifold?

I have the carb off, and an escort one going on.

I was going to make my own adapter, but I wasn't able to remove the studs by double nutting.

Heat the stud with a torch and then try turning.
