    Stopped and looked at an escort exp low miles (122k) has auto trans good body...unfortunately I have stopped twice ...no one home..and texted...have got answer s on text but not the motor pics I asked for...they don't seem to know much about car other than runs and drives good ...so I don't know what motor is in it...I was thinking about having another little car to drive but dont know much bout the exp anybody ever had one..have one now? Any thoughts on it would be appreciated...I.e. Motor and mpg thank s
    The Steve, 89 L, 93 b3, 81 escort carbed, 5 spd now, metro 13s, 88 323 exh mani, very comfy Suzuki forenza front seats...47 mpg as long as it is above 40°! LOL!

    1.9 like the gt of that generation I don't know much about them other then there arn't many around. I say buy it.

        Well wanted to follow up finally got a look at the exp the good....it starts...bad runs like it only has 3 cylinders and the both back shock towers and adjoining area r rusted thru really bad....so it is a pass thanx for the info all

          I always wanted one of the first versions- The Froggy or something- and a smaller 1.5 motor, but I didn't care for it so much after it became a bigger "escort". Could still be a cool car- I have a 95 Escort LX Wagon outside I'd like to drive but haven't really yet- a bigger 1.9 by then, but more modern bolt on bearings while the 96 Aspire is still saddled by the press-in style.
          I saw a great video on youtube by someone buying an '82 EXP just this year.
