  • Finally on the Road

I got my 93 on the road, had to swap engines after bad blow-by in the original. I got the car for $200 with a broken cam, replaced the cam and got it running but it was putting tons o' oil in the air intake. Got a 70k mile motor from Canada for $100, replaced all the gaskets and put the stuff from the other motor on it. Rebuilt all the steering. Installed A/C while it was out. Put the FMS hood on it, rear spoiler, cargo light, power mirrors, center console with shiftboot and knob. Modded the center console with a Taurus cup holder/change holder. Put in a escort headliner light, installed the new clock and bezel, made the wiring harness, put the split rear seat and upgraded door panal and front seats. Still need to swap rims and tires from the old one. Now I need to finsh sanding and paint it, probable in the sping.

no offense but i never understood when people do a carbon fiber or fiberglass hood on a fully loaded vehicle, I understand that a fully loaded festiva is alot less weight than most gutted cars but the stock hood isnt that heavy to begin with. I dunno just my two cents but good luck on your build it sounds like it is coming along very well.

Even though the stock hood doesn't weigh much, the FMS hood is alot lighter and looks so much nicer! And yes, my Festiva is loaded beyond the factory options. I have added whatever else wasn't available.
